Final

1. Participation

Participation has been one of my stronger categories. Every single day when I'm at school I have proper p.e clothes and I even brought it last week when I was not participating just in case. This semester I missed a handful of days because I have been getting sick a lot these past few weeks. The attitude that I bring is energetic, welcoming, and positive. Whenever we choose an activity with the I am inclusive with everyone's ideas and I encourage them to say what they want to do. Also I always go with the activity that was chosen by the majority because it's not fair if we do an activity only a couple people want to do. On fitness days I usually give 100 % and or somewhere close. When I'm in the weight room I always do a proper workout unlike some people that just stand around or sit on a bike but I haven't seen anybody in our class do that. Only one time in the whole year I did a bad job on a fitness day and you talked to me about it but you said I had to do it even though I wanted to do something else but that's shouldn't be any excuse for what I did. I am pretty good at most sports such as soccer I have never been in any soccer league and I rarely play it but I think I play well. the amount of effort I put into the games we play is very good because I am usually  tired and sweaty at the end of the class. On choice days I either play hockey or go to the weight room because those are the things that I use the most energy for and I enjoy both of them. By the way this section was much longer before and my phone stopped working and deleted it all and I had to start from scratch. I think that I deserve a 25 / 25.

2. Social Responsibility and contribution to the class

Social responsibility is pretty good. Am very nice to other people and I'm include all people's ideas when we are deciding what we are going to do. Also I say a bunch of activities we can do because some people are too shy to say it and when I say it they'll say that they want to do it. A couple of classes ago when we were in the small gym I encouraged the only 2 girls with the guys to give some input on what they want to do. When we are setting up an activity I try to help and get the stuff but a lot of the time I'm too late and everyone has gotten all the materials needed for the activities but I try to help in other ways like settling the people down so we can determine the teams. An example is when we play hockey I always help in some way such as getting the sticks, nets, or by settling the boys down so we can determine the teams quickly and start playing fast. When we pick teams I always tell people to not do captains because it sucks to be the last person to be picked. When we play hockey we always have a good player on each team so that the teams are even because it's boring when one team is overpowered.  When we play games I never cheat because I honestly hate it when other people do it and if I cheat I'm no better than those who do cheat. An example is dodge ball which I believe has the highest rate of cheating because some people stay in when they get hit by a ball. When we play games I pass to everyone so they get a chance to play as well.  When it comes to fitness scores I'm very honest because if I'm not honest I'm not getting anything out of it and for me it takes out the purpose of even trying at all. I think that I deserve a 23/25 because I have been pretty honest and inclusive.

3. Healthy Living

My health has gotten a lot better since the beginning of the semester. My fitness scores are a good example. my beeptest score went up by 1.4 levels, my vertical has gone up by 5, my T-test score was 3 seconds less than before, and my plank is 15-20 seconds longer. My diet is pretty good but I have a big sweet tooth. Whenever there are sweets in my house I'm going to eat a lot of them because of my sweet tooth I only like sweet fruits and some vegetables. My mom tries to make me healthy foods by using a wider variety of vegetables so I get more nutrients and she doesn't let me eat out much. I am very active but I don't take pictures of me when I'm doing activities like playing hockey or going to the gym. My goals have changed a lot before I wanted to gain strength all around but now I want to focus more on my upper body because it's not very strong. Ball hockey is a good sport to get better at running because it is so tiring playing it. At the beginning of the semester I got a 9 on the beeptest but because of ball hockey I got 10. This season I hurt myself once and it was a sprained ankle. I was doing many things to gain strength in my ankle but it still isn't 100% even though it's been well over a month but hopefully it will get better soon. A goal I have for the future is to be in good shape and to eat healthier so I can play hockey for years and stay healthy. I think I should get 21/25 because I work quite hard to be healthy.

4. Digital Portfolio and Reflective Skills

This was probably tied for my weakest section. I have large time gaps between my posts but I'm going to do a couple more posts before the year ends. I might not have many posts but they are honest and descriptive. Also I'm going to try to get a couple pictures of me doing some physical activities. I have taken my goals very seriously so I have been very descriptive about it and have changed it multiple times since the beginning of the semester. My picture and video evidence game is weak but I don't know how to post the videos but I don't have many videos of me because I always forget to make videos or pictures because I usually don't have my phone on me because I don't have pockets or I don't want it to break while playing hockey. All my posts are good quality in my opinion and once I finish a few of my drafts I  think I should  18/25. I think that I deserve 87% overall grade because in these last few days I'm going to post more content and evidence.

30 min run with intervals

The pace that I had done was jog for 3 minutes and rest for 1. Rajan, Evan, and I were doing jogging together since our fitness levels are fairly close. For the first half of the run it was easy but as we kept on going I was getting lazy and I wanted to stop for a long time. It was real hard to keep going but I kept going because I wanted to set a good example for my partners and I didn't want to give a negative attitude. We chose a perfect pace to jog for 3 minutes but I barely got 6 laps. I had to use all the energy I had left and ran the whole lap. This method of running wasn't as good as my usual 30 min run but if I ever do it again I will try running for 4 min and resting for 1.

A nice jog

It was a sunny and beautiful day so I decide to go on a jog with a friend. My friend and I decide to meet up somewhere in between our houses. When I was jogging to our rendezvous I saw a familiar face it was Evan leaving for a hockey game. I said hi and continued to the meeting point. When I met my friend we started to jog around the community and enjoy the scenery. We were jogging nonstop for the whole time and it was so hot. When we were done I sprinted home and took a nice cool shower. Then when I walked into the kitchen and opened the fridge I saw freshly cut watermelon and I devoured a quarter of it and drank some water. It felt great going on a run and I will probably try to go once a week.

Weight room

In the weight room Evan and I were working out our chest and arms. First we did dumbell press and we did 3 sets 12 reps. Then we did curls 3 sets 10 reps and after that we did dips to work out our triceps. On this day we were focusing on upper body strength in our arms and chest. My goals from the beginning of the semester and from now has changed  a lot. My new goal is to focus more on upper body strength because my legs are very strong and my arms are decent.

Mid semester fitness testing

Beeptest 9.2
T-test 14 seconds
Balance board 6 touches
Vertical 40
Pushup 15
Plank 35 seconds

During the day of the fitness testing I was sick and it had a big impact on how I could have done. On the beeptest I got 9.2 but, I think I could've got a 10 but I got very tired and lethargic. After I finished the beeptest and did the T-test I was still feeling lethargic and was kind of slow. My balance was pretty decent and I managed to only get 6 touches. Then I did vertical and I did well ,but I could've done better.
When I was doing pushup the first 5 were fine and then all of a sudden I was aching so much and I stopped at 15. Then I did the plank and I did very well and beat my old score in a lethargic state I was in. Overall I think I did well and I'm hoping to improve after some hard work.

Overview of my goals so far

My goals so far are going pretty well right now. I have been exercising a lot more and I focus on areas that I need to work on like core strength. At home I do 3 core workouts crumches, v-sits, and leg raises. I do around 20 reps for each exercise, but I need to start doing planks to bring up my core strength to another level. All my other goals are on track I have improved a lot since the beginning of the semester and I have not gained any mass but i lost some fat which is just as good but I'm hoping that i gain 5 pounds by the end of the year.

Midterm

I have showed that I'm prepared in many ways. I always bring my gym strip and I always participate in the activity that was chosen by the majority. I put in extra effort in activities that I enjoy very much because it's not fun if I don't work hard. The hardest days were yoga and dance because they are very different from the things I like and they are too complex for me. My put in a decent effort in the classes success. I do my fair share of preparation and I started too choose activities that everyone would like. I bring a good attitude because I don't say negative things. I don't say negative things because I don't like being rude and I don't want to ruin other people's fun.  I don't really interact much with other people because I don't experience a situation that I would need to. On fitness days I usually give 100% and I always try to go the extra mile. I enjoy fitness days that require running because I want to build my stamina. I want to have good stamina, strong core, and to get stronger. Leadership is when someone takes charge but in an inspiring way and the leaders help everyone and they always  take the blame. Also some leaders don't have to talk to have an impact on other people like Pavel Datsyuk. Nobody has really stepped up as an adequate leader. I want to improve my leadership skills and doing my blogs on time. I am most proud of having more than 2 posts on my blog. The letter grade that I believe I deserve is an A 86% because I did my midterm late and I haven't posted pictures of proof yet.

Extracurricular activity

On Saturday I went to my first ball hockey practice of the season. Last season  I was a forward but this year I felt like changing it up and becoming a goalie. It felt so good to play because I have been waiting so long for the season to start. Sadly I forgot to bring a water bottle and I was really thirsty. It was lots of fun and I was tired at the end of practice but, I thought it would be a bit more tiring but, my teammates were really tired because they had to run laps so I was happy that I decided to play goalie. My first game is on Wednesday and I'll be splitting it with the other goalie on my team and I'm really excited.

Day 1 of dance

Jazz dance is very complicated and has a lot of steps. I would always mess up because it was too high of a tempo for me and I would skip some of the steps. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be and it wasn't that boring either. I'm hoping it's true that this is the hardest dance because I suck at dancing and I don't want to butcher any other dances.

Interim

Cardiovascular G
My fitness level is pretty good. I got a 9 on the beeptest and I am do well in exercise all round except for yoga. I believe there is always room for improvement.

Participation G
I always participate even if I'm sore I'll do as much as I can. I will also participate in activities that I dislike but with less passion and effort than something I like.

Intensity G
My intensity is good. I try to put in a good amount of effort in the beginning of every fitness but, in the last couple minutes I always finish very strong.

Contribution G
I don't do anything that would hurt me or anybody else.  I always play by the rules no matter what because I don't like it when others play unfair. I treat people the way I want to be treated with fairness and kindness.

Engagement G
I'm a active guy. I like to play hockey or basketball at home after school. Sometimes I help my brother with hockey and teach him some things he could use for in-game situations.

Understanding G
I have a good understanding of what I need to do to stay healthy. I know what foods to eat and what exercises to do and whatever I don't know I ask my older friends that take working out seriously.  They go 6 times a week and they have a good knowledge of working out and diets.

Physical preparedness G
I'm always prepared. I have a lock and I always bring my gym strip.

Mental preparedness G
I come to every class with a positive attitude and Participating isn't a problem. I always put my phone in my locker so I don't distract my self and I don't talk when you talk or give instructions.

I am enjoying everything in this class. Especially the talks we have in class because they motivate me to do better.the activities we do are fun and I love most of the activities for fitness.

There is only one thing that I would want to change. That is doing yoga on fitness days because I can't do anything that they do and it's a complete waste of time for me to do. Also I don't really have a yoga body so me and yoga don't go together very well.

Pyramid 1st and 2nd time

When we did the pyramid for the first time we went from 13 - 5. My start was horrible I really could have done better and I wish I did. I was at 10 reps 20 min into the work which really disappointed me. But with 7 min left I gave it all I had and I ended with 7 reps and nearly finished it. The second we did 10 - 1. I started better than I did for the 1st pyramid and I didn't look at how much time was left until it was a couple min away from the end and I was so close to finishing.  Rather than saying there's no point of trying I kept saying to myself I can do it and I can't stop now because I didn't put much effort in the fitness before. I finished at the end and I was so self satisfied and yet so tired but, now I know what I'm capable of and I'm going to try my hardest more often.

30 min run

The 30 min run was very challenging for me because I had not done any activities that needed running.I tried my best not to walk but I did walk for 20 - 30 seconds the whole run. At the beginning of the run I thought I was going pretty slow but I realized 15 min into the run that my pace was a bit too fast and it made me want to walk but when I did I would start to run immediately. I ended the run with a strong finish and I was drained of all my energy.

my pe 10 goals

My goal for pe this year is to get stronger in ways to benefit me in hockey. An e.g is strong legs for good balance, speed, and acceleration. Also I want  to gain some body mass so I don't get tossed around in hockey and so I can stand my ground. I found this workout on YouTube it is for explosiveness for skating on the ice. After the workout my legs felt tingly and I felt very light when I was walking and I felt very self satisfied for doing a workout that could help me out.
